09:43 Comma - Elusive Dreams 2001 |
Год:2001 Tracklist^ Band^ Рецензии: From the Metal-mecca of Turkey comes the new Progressive Power Metal-band COMMA. As with most bands that come from countries that are not big producers of Metal-bands, these boys have a unique sound with many influences. "Elusive Dreams" fits the tag of Progressive Metal, the band blasting into all sorts of tricky arrangements and keyboard elegances worthy of MAGNUM, yet of course updated for the 2000's. This album benefiting splendidly from a stellar production and a repertoire of riffs that are fresh as well as aggressive. The vocalist has a very heavy accent, but sounds quite good when he is not trying to reach those high notes, which knock him on his face. Major problem with this band is that they take forever to say what's on their minds. Never getting down to the business at hand, which is to make Metal you could listen to and not get bored of. It's too fancy, too progressive, and that's too bad, because when they do let go they have some good headbanging moments. One thinks BLIND GUARDIAN, but without the speed or the catchy tunes. I wish I could recommend this more, but I know that it will be hidden on my racks forever. **************** REVIEW: Comma - Elusive Dreams Real interesting and fresh new bands rarely come by these days but here we finally have one named Comma. They hail out of the doorway to Asia - Turkey - and their music is also somewhat influenced by the traditional Turkish music which is one of the reasons why their sound is so different from most other bands. Another reason is the powerful, although a little whining, vocals from Ufuk Özkurt which are well worth mentioning. When talking genre Comma would be put in the progressive metal category but since they once started out in 1998 as a pure heavy metal band they have a less complex and more straight-forward approach...
